Tranda Covington, MA, ALMFT is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families move from surviving to thriving. At Taking Control Counseling Services, she provides individual, family, and couples therapy, with a focus on creating emotionally safe spaces where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to express their authentic selves.
Tranda has extensive experience working with children and adolescents, both in schools and clinical settings. She has also developed and facilitated group programs designed to help youth build confidence, emotional awareness, and social skills. Her clinical work spans diverse populations and a wide range of presenting concerns, including family conflict, trauma, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, and behavioral challenges.
In her couples and family therapy work, Tranda emphasizes strengthening connection, improving communication, and fostering mutual understanding. She believes in collaborative, growth-oriented therapy that supports each individual’s voice within the relationship system.
Before pursuing a career in mental health, Tranda held various leadership positions in Corporate America and worked as a Business Coach. Drawing from that background, she also offers career counseling to clients navigating transitions, workplace stress, and identity-related challenges within professional environments.
