Looking for an internship? Taking Control welcomes interns all year round. We are committed to providing students with a rewarding experience in the mental health field where they can develop their clinical and entrepreneurial skills required for success in private practice. Taking Control has been a therapist training site for over 15 years. Many of our interns have transitioned to staff members upon graduation. Additionally, due to the skills and tools gained at TC many of our clinicians have been able to successfully open their own private practices. These positions are available to students in master's level clinical programs (social work, clinical counseling, marriage and family therapy, and psychology). As a Taking Control clinical intern, you will be responsible for providing outpatient mental health care to individuals, families, and couples. This includes accurately providing applicable diagnoses, creating and implementing treatment plans, completing clinical notes in a timely fashion, acting as a mandated reporter, and attending weekly supervision, amongst other duties. Additionally, if you are passionate about creating and facilitating groups and are interested in providing compassionate care in an outpatient setting, you would be a great fit for our team.
Supervision will be provided under individuals with the following credentials: • LCPC • LCSW • LMFT
Weekly Schedule: To be determined in conjunction with your educational program. Although daytime availability is required, interns have the opportunity to incorporate evening and weekend hours into their schedule as needed.
Interns demonstrating exemplary performance will be strongly considered for future employment at Taking Control Counseling Services.
