Brandon Strickland, MS, LPC
Brandon Strickland earned his Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2022. After completing his internship at Taking Control, he was hired on as a therapist that primarily works with children, adolescents, and teenagers in Aurora’s public schools through Communities in Schools Aurora; a nonprofit partnership that provides students with free counseling in area public schools. Brandon has a passion for education and has a background of working as a substitute teacher, and paraeducator, in both general education and special education classrooms in Elgin’s School District U-46. His therapeutic style is based on humanistic psychology, multicultural counseling, and individual psychology which emphasizes transparency, psychoeducation, and empowerment in the therapeutic process. Brandon’s therapeutic interests drive him to continually research and obtain training in holistic, integrative, and equitable therapeutic approaches to best serve his clients.
