Jerry Lau-BA, MA Candidate, Counseling Intern
Jerry prefer to use a Person-Centered approach, tailoring my methods to match each client’s individual needs.
He is an active, outdoorsy person with many hobbies, including rollerblading, fishing, camping, hiking, ecology, gardening, video games and art among others. He got into the mental health field because he also struggled with his own ADHD and depression growing up, and he found it meaningful to give back to the community by helping others, just as others have helped him
He also utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based techniques to help clients build coping strategies and achieve their personal goals.
He enjoys working with various populations including teenagers, children (8+), and adults. He also has professional experience working with veterans, neurodiverse people, and mandated/court-involved individuals.
