What To Expect on Your First Visit...

Whether you're new to therapy, or just new to us, we understand that seeking counseling services can seem overwhelming, confusing, and even a little scary. This is completely natural for a new experience. We truly believe that it takes courage to allow yourself to be vulnerable in front of someone new, and we want to do everything we can to make you feel as comfortable as possible, and to accompany you on this new journey you have decided to take!

In your first visit, the therapist you meet with tell you what to expect from our services and answer any questions you have, and will need to gather some information from you. This is very important in order to help determine how we can best help you. Some questions the therapist will ask may include:

Why you are seeking therapy.
Whether a recent event or change in your life has led you here, or you have been struggling with an issue for a long time, it is important for us to know why you decided to reach out for help now.

Your symptoms.
This isn't about be nosy or intrusive, it's about understanding the full picture in order to give you the best possible care! By having a complete understanding of how your problems are affecting yourself and your life, we can begin to help guide you to deal with those issues and transform your life.

Your current situation and personal history.
The therapist you meet with will likely ask you some questions about your life. Again, his is not meant to be nosy! Your past and present can both play an important role in the issues you are currently dealing with, and can also be affected by those difficulties as well. If we know more about you, we can better help you!

Your goals.
Knowing what you want to accomplish in our time together will help us to help you get the most out of this experience.

Therapy is a Journey

The information you share with us on your first visit will help us to partner you with the therapist who will best be able to serve your needs. The relationship between you and your therapist is a very important part of the healing process, so we want to make sure we have all the information available in order to find who works best for you! Remember that therapy is not a quick fix solution to all of your problems, but a process. However, with some effort on your part, and the help of our team, we can find solutions together to help you take control of your life!
